The Adeptus Custodes, known as the Golden Legion, the Brotherhood of Demigods, and the Custodians, are the most elite warriors in the Imperium. For millennia, they have defended humanity’s greatest leader against threats both internal and external.

Origins Shrouded in Myth

The origins of the Custodian Guard are shrouded in mystery and legend. They first appeared during the Terran Unification Wars, serving as the Emperor’s personal bodyguard. Their genetic enhancement predates that of the Space Marines and is derived from a mysterious source, with some speculating that it may be linked to the Emperor’s own genetic matrix.

A History of Loyalty and Honor

Throughout the Great Crusade, the Custodes remained loyal to the Emperor, always keeping a contingent by his side for protection. They traveled individually as envoys, and their authority was such that even Space Marines and Inquisitors would kneel before them. After the Emperor’s internment in the Golden Throne, the Custodes took on a limited role as protectors of the Imperial Palace, but with the reappearance of Roboute Guilliman, they have resumed their traditional role as guardians of the Imperium.
