The Undead of the Old World

Throughout the land of Nehekhara, powerful and feared leaders have risen from the dead to wreak havoc on the living. These undead warriors, sorcerers, and rulers have left their mark on the world, shaping the course of history with their unyielding ambition and thirst for power.

The First of the Undead

One of the most legendary of these undead leaders is the ruler of Zandri, a great fleet commander who still sails the seas, seeking out pirates to destroy. His beloved, the Warrior-Queen of Lybaras, was a well-respected figure across Nehekhara, and her legacy lives on through the countless battles fought in her name.

The Rise of the Necromancers

In the city of Mahrak, the leader Phar rose from the dead, fueled by rage against those who had wronged him in life. He broke into the tombs of his fellow rulers and destroyed their bodies, burning them to ashes. This act of desecration set him on a path of dark magic, and he became one of the first necromancers of Nehekhara.

The Doom Lord of Middenheim

A great wizard from Middenheim, the Doom Lord heard of the return of Nagash, a legendary figure thought defeated by Sigmar. He traveled to Nagashizzar to learn of this figure and the source of his powers, becoming a powerful necromancer in the process.

The Blood Knights

Among the most feared of the undead are the Blood Knights, a legion of vampire warriors who ride to war on horseback. Their leader, the Duke of Mousillon, also known as Merovech the Mad, was a powerful Blood Knight feared throughout Bretonnia for his bloodlust.

The Lahmian Sisterhood

The Queen of Mysteries, Neferata, founded the Lahmian Sisterhood, a group of vampires bound together by their loyalty to their queen. Her most trusted servant, the courtesan from Cathay, was a powerful vampire and the first of the sisterhood.

The Vampire Counts of Sylvania

The von Carstein dynasty ruled over Sylvania, converting many of its human aristocracy into vampires. The first and greatest of these Vampire Counts was Vlad von Carstein, who created an undead kingdom in the heart of the Empire.

Champions of Chaos

Among the most feared servants of the Chaos gods are the Champions of Chaos, warriors chosen by the gods themselves to wield their power. Arbaal the Undefeated, Khorne’s most favored follower, is one of the deadliest beings to walk the Old World.

The Dark Apothecary

A once-proud physician, the Dark Apothecary has become one of Nurgle’s greatest mortal servants. He wields the power of disease and decay, using it to further the goals of his dark master.

These are just a few of the many undead leaders who have shaped the course of history in the Old World. Their stories are ones of power, ambition, and the unrelenting pursuit of darkness.
