Early Life and Induction into the Legiones Astartes

Born on Terra, Ahriman was inducted into the Legiones Astartes alongside his twin brother Ohrmuzd. The brothers were part of the Great Crusade, a campaign led by the Emperor to unite the galaxy under his rule. However, as the Thousand Sons Legion began to manifest psychic abilities, they were forever changed by the terrible flesh-changes that would alter their destiny.

Rise to Prominence

Ahriman’s natural affinity for the psychic disciplines led to his rapid ascent through the ranks. He became the Chief Librarian of the legion, Captain of the First Fellowship, and leader of the elite Sekhmet. His leadership and mastery of the arcane arts earned him great respect among his peers.

The Horus Heresy and the Fall of the Thousand Sons

As the Horus Heresy unfolded, Ahriman found himself at the center of events that would lead to the downfall of the Thousand Sons. The return of the flesh-change and the execution of the afflicted Thousand Son by Leman Russ only deepened Ahriman’s sense of dread and betrayal. In the aftermath of the Burning of Prospero, Ahriman created and enacted the great spell that bears his name, ultimately leading to his banishment from the Legion he had dedicated his life to protecting.
