Imperial Knights: The Armored Warriors of the Imperium
In a grim darkness where war is a constant presence, the Imperial Knights stand as towering figures on the battlefield. These massive machines, piloted by skilled warriors, are the epitome of the Imperium’s technological prowess.
Knight Valiant: A Close-Range Powerhouse
The Knight Valiant is designed for fighting at close range, equipped with a devastating Thundercoil Harpoon and Conflagration Cannon. Its carapace-mounted Shieldbreaker Missiles and Siegebreaker Cannons make it a formidable opponent, while its twin-Melta Guns provide added firepower.
Other Notable Knights
- Knight Asterius: Armed with twin Conversion Beam Cannons and a back-mounted Karacnos Mortar Battery, this Knight is a force to be reckoned with.
- Knight Porphyrion: With its Twin-Linked Magma Lascannons and carapace-mounted Ironstorm Missile Pods or Helios Defense Missiles, this Knight is a versatile fighter.
- Knight Helverin: This smaller, fast-moving Knight is designed for close-ranged fire support, armed with Helverin Autocannons and heavy stubbers or meltaguns.
- Knight Warglaive: Equipped with a Reaper Chainsword and Thermal Spears, this Knight excels at close combat.
Leadership and Transportation
Knights are often led by experienced warriors, such as the Knight Baron, who pilots a custom-made suit. These leaders work closely with the ruling Lord of a Knightly House, providing strategic guidance. Knights are typically deployed via specialized transports, such as Macro Landers, Cathedrum Invasion Landers, and Drop-keeps.
Notable Knights and Their Pilots

A Brief History of the Knights
The origins of the Knights date back to the Dark Age of Technology, when human colonists on agricultural worlds adopted Eldar Exodite farming techniques. These humans developed combat walkers, which they called “Knights,” and clashed with the Eldar in bloody conflicts. When these planets were rediscovered by the Imperium, the warrior aristocracy rose to prominence, and the Knights became an integral part of the Imperium’s military might.
Development History
Imperial Knights have been a part of the Warhammer 40,000 lore since the early days of the Epic game line. However, they did not become a playable faction until the release of Codex: Imperial Knights in 2014 for the 6th Edition.
