The Unyielding Sigillite
In the midst of the war-torn galaxy, a mysterious figure emerged as a beacon of hope for humanity. Malcador, the Sigillite, stood as a powerful psyker and a master strategist, who played a crucial role in shaping the fate of the Imperium.
A Change of Heart
As the battle for the Lion’s Gate Spaceport raged on, Malcador met with Amon Tauromachian to discuss the growing threat of Euphrati Keeler and the proto-Imperial Cultists within the Imperial Palace. Initially, Malcador had viewed the Cultists with skepticism, but he began to see the potential benefits of their faith in empowering the Emperor. This shift in perspective marked a significant turning point in Malcador’s approach to the war.
War Council
Following the fall of the Spaceport, Malcador attended a high-level war meeting with esteemed leaders such as Dorn, Khan, Valdor, and Jenetia Krole. The Praetorian outlined his defense plans for key strongholds, including the Saturnine Gate, Eternity Wall Spaceport, Colossi Gate, and Gorgon Bar. However, Malcador’s frail appearance, exacerbated by Krole’s Blank field, raised concerns about his ability to lead.
Recommissioning the Remembrancers
Malcador recognized the importance of documenting the war effort and recommissioned Kyril Sindermann and a new order of Remembrancers to chronicle the battles. This decision would prove crucial in preserving the history of the Imperium.
Confronting the Crimson King
When Magnus the Red and his Thousand Sons infiltrated the Palace, they were met by Malcador and Alivia Sureka deep beneath the Imperial Palace. Malcador attempted to turn the Crimson King to his cause, but Magnus’s rage ultimately led to Malcador’s apparent demise. However, Sureka’s sacrifice would later revive the Sigillite.
Aiding the Emperor
As the war raged on, Malcador continued to support the Emperor, even venturing into the Warp to aid him in his struggle against Chaos. Within the Warp, Malcador symbolically offered the ailing Emperor a drink of water, earning his gratitude.
The Golden Throne
When the Emperor decided to face Horus aboard the Vengeful Spirit, he entrusted Malcador with taking his place on the Golden Throne. Malcador willingly accepted the burden, despite knowing his mental powers were no match for the Emperor’s. As he ascended the throne, Malcador was subjected to immense physical torment but gained a newfound awareness of the universe.
Final Sacrifice
As the traitor forces closed in, Malcador’s body began to dissolve, but his spirit persevered. He continued to send vital clues to aid Imperial heroes, including Loken. In the end, it was Horus who fell, and Malcador finally allowed himself to pass on, his soul fading into the Golden Throne.
Legacy
Malcador’s unyielding dedication to the Imperium left an indelible mark on its history. His legacy lived on through the countless lives he touched and the foundations he laid for the Imperium’s future. Though his body was reduced to dust, his spirit continued to inspire generations to come.
