Marneus Augustus Calgar, Lord Defender of Greater Ultramar and Chapter Master of the esteemed Ultramarines, has etched his name into the annals of history as a champion of the Imperium.

Early Life and Ascension

Born Tacitan, a serf of the Noble House of Calgar on Nova Thulium, Marneus’s fate was intertwined with that of his companion, the young heir Marneus Calgar. Seeking honor and escape from the noble system, both trained to become Space Marines under the tutelage of Crixus. However, their aspirations were soon tainted by the discovery of Crixus’s Khornate cultist affiliations. In the ensuing struggle, Marneus Calgar fell, but Tacitan pledged to carry on his friend’s legacy, adopting his identity and becoming the Marneus Calgar known today.

A Legacy of Valor

Calgar’s unyielding resolve in the face of danger is exemplified by his numerous achievements. He led the breaching assault on the Tyranid Hive Ship Behemoth Primus during the Battle of Macragge, single-handedly held the gate against an Ork Horde at the Siege of Zalathras, and defeated an Eldar Avatar in single combat, routing the Eldar forces at the Battle for Orar’s Sepulchre.
