Scythes Of The Emperor Warhammer 40K – Part 1 (Part 1 of 4)

Rebirth of the Scythes

In a distant corner of the galaxy, a legendary Space Marine Chapter has risen from the ashes. The Scythes of the Emperor, once on the brink of destruction, have experienced a remarkable rebirth in the Age of the Dark Imperium.

Origins of Honor

The Scythes’ history dates back to the Horus Heresy, where the 199th “Aegida” company of the Ultramarines fought valiantly against the Night Lords in the Battle of Sotha. As a testament to their bravery, Roboute Guilliman bestowed upon them the emblem of two crossed scythes, symbolizing their defense of the farmers of Sotha.

The Corinth Crusade

The Scythes played a pivotal role in the Corinth Crusade, led by Marneus Calgar, which brought together forces from several Space Marine Chapters and Imperial Guard Regiments. Together, they crushed the Ork hordes of Waaagh! Skargor, delaying further Ork incursions from Charadon for over thirty years.

Damocles Gulf Crusade

In the aftermath of the Damocles Crusade, the Scythes took center stage in Eastern Fringe warfare. They led the first landing onto T’au territory, establishing a crucial foothold on the world of Sy’l’kell. Despite initial setbacks, the Scythes broke through a T’au ambush, saving the Brimlock Dragoons from near destruction.

Verdeworlds Campaign

The Scythes continued to prove their mettle in the Verdeworlds Campaign, fighting alongside the Ultramarines and Iron Hands Chapters. Through months of grueling combat, they kept up constant night patrols against T’au infiltrators, forging a mutual respect between the two sides.

Rebirth and Renewal

Though the Scythes suffered greatly at the hands of Hive Fleet Kraken, their determination and resilience have allowed them to rebuild and reclaim their place among the esteemed Space Marine Chapters. As the galaxy teeters on the brink of chaos, the Scythes of the Emperor stand ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
