War Of Beasts Warhammer 40K – Part 8 (Part 8 of 17)

The Devastation of Vigilus

A Storm Unleashed

In the heart of the Vhulian Swirl, a catastrophic storm ravaged the lands east of Hyperia Hivesprawl. Abaddon, the Warmaster of Chaos, set his sights on harnessing the power of the ancient Voidclaw, a massive weapon capable of reshaping the fabric of space. From the Vengeful Spirit, Abaddon and his Bringers of Despair teleported to the Citadel Vigilant, an ancient construct at the center of the Swirl.

The Vhulian Anomaly

As Abaddon activated the Voidclaw, a disastrous effect rippled across Vigilus. The planet’s gravity was severely disrupted, causing widespread destruction. Imperial vessels were crushed and scattered by the gravitic forces, while planetside, anything not bolted down was drawn towards the Vhulian Swirl. The spires of Megaborealis, Hyperia, Dirkden, and Storvhal all tumbled and fell, and the planet’s precious water supply was severely affected.

Calgar’s Gambit

As the Chaos forces sought to exploit the catastrophe, the Word Bearers began constructing Noctilith Crowns to harness the power of the Great Rift. Meanwhile, the Death Guard spread their plagues across Dontoria, and the Night Lords launched a renewed assault on Dirkden. However, Calgar, the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, waged a campaign of misdirection and entrapment, manipulating the demeanors of their foes to drive one enemy into another.

Megaborealis Thunder Sump

Abaddon sought to destroy the Blackstone deposits guarded by the Mechanicum at Silo XV. Protected by a macro-grade Refractor Field, Abaddon deployed a vast host of Daemon Engines and Brazen Beasts to assail it. However, the arrival of the Cerberite stirred another foe: the Orks of Krooldakka, who stormed into Thunder Sump and hindered the Chaos advance.

Mortwald

As the war raged on, the Iron Warriors engaged their foes, the Imperial Fists and Knights, in a brutal battle. The World Eaters slaughtered the defenders of the Giants, a series of crenelated plateaus in northern Oteck. Meanwhile, the Alpha Legion engaged in covert actions, seeking to undermine the Imperial forces from within.
