In the epic saga of Warhammer 40,000, we traverse distant worlds and ancient histories, crossing paths with warriors and heroes whose stories intertwine in a complex tapestry of valor, honor, and grim determination. Today, we delve into the tale of a mortal woman, a legion of Space Marines, and the primark who led them into the unknown.
Our story begins with a Space Marine captain, Argel Tal, who was bestowed an honor unexpected and humbling. A mortal woman, to whom Argel Tal had given his scroll – a parchment of blessing – declared she would name her newborn son after him. This was a tribute that left the Space Marine captain embarrassed yet wishing the woman and her child good fortune.
Soon after, Argel Tal found himself in the presence of the primark, at a meeting where the mortal woman, Cyrene Valantion, was permitted to become the Confessor of the Legion and accompany the Serrated Sun Chapter. This woman, however, was not the only echo of Monarchia, a city razed to ashes and reborn from them. The primark expressed his gratitude to Argel Tal, the first to rush in raising their father from the ashes of the city.
Yet things took a twist when the primark revealed that the First Chaplain Erebus, previously thought to harbor hatred towards Argel Tal due to past disagreements, remembered him. This revelation left the captain surprised, though it did nothing to absolve Erebus in his eyes.
Moving forward, the Serrated Sun Chapter and its flagship, De Profundis, were chosen to be the primark’s sanctuary. For three years, the Word Bearers fought on various fronts of the Great Crusade. It was a time of relentless vigor, with the Legion replenishing its ranks at an unprecedented pace. However, beneath the veneer of success, the primark was on a quest for Truth, with Argel Tal by his side.
Their journey led them to the wild tribes of Cadia, a world far from the central regions of the Empire. Here, the primark heard voices calling his name, a phenomenon that baffled Argel Tal. As they delved deeper into the unknown, they found themselves on the brink of a massive warp-storm that would come to be known as the Eye of Terror.
Cadia was a paradise, yet its inhabitants chose to dwell in the rocky wastelands rather than the lush green forests and warm coastal regions. The Word Bearers, accompanied by the Custodes, were taken aback by this anomaly and the peculiar violet-eyed locals whose speech was understood by the natives of Colchis.
These unusual circumstances led to heightened tensions among the Custodes who saw the locals as a threat. Argel Tal, however, advocated for understanding before slaughter. Weeks passed as they lived among the natives, with Lorgar spending his time with a local woman, Ingethel, who promised answers to their quest. The primark had to participate in a mandatory ritual, and as he feigned indifference to it, we are left in suspense, eagerly awaiting the next chapter of their journey to unfold.
