Exorcists: The Untold Story of Betrayal and Dark Secrets – Part 6

The Exorcists’ Trial by Fire: Saga of the Horned God’s Minions and The Purging of Stone Crawl

Welcome back, faithful readers, to our ongoing chronicle of the bravest and baddest of Warhammer 40k’s warriors – The Exorcists. Today, we delve into one of the most grueling and bloody chapters in their history: their clash with the Horned God’s flame-wreathed minions and their pivotal role in the purging of Stone Crawl.

In the shadow of a broken temple, the Exorcists, backed by a Strike Force from Order Malus, found themselves battling through suicidal cultists, masterful ambushes, and fierce counterattacks led by the Night Lords. The Exorcists, despite their losses, stood their ground, their courage unwavering in the face of the dark creature that had effortlessly torn through their Terminator-armored warriors.

The tide of battle turned when a dreadnought from the Order sacrificed itself to tear a burning chunk of the demon’s flesh, revealing its flaming heart. Librarian Malachite, with a desperate thrust of his spear, severed the demon’s connection to the material world. The arch-demon’s howls echoed across the warp, its servants perishing in black flames, ending the chaotic uprising. Despite losing a third of their order, the Exorcists emerged victorious, and within a year, the Ashen sub-sector was back under Imperial control.

Fast forward to the year 740 of the 41st Millennium, the Exorcists found themselves at the heart of the Tyrannid threat. Hive Fleet Behemoth wreaked havoc on the Imperium until it was halted at Mcragge in 745. Amid this chaos, the Exorcists took part in the purging of Stone Crawl.

Stone Crawl, a frontier planet on the northwestern edge of Ultramar, became a living nightmare for the colonists when Genestealers emerged from the drifting trade vessel, Nostros Vex. The Genestealers swept through the settlements like a butcher’s knife through raw meat, leaving devastation in their wake.

When all hope seemed lost, salvation arrived in the form of crimson Thunderhawks descending from the skies. The third company of the Exorcists, thrown off course by the Tyranid shadow in the warp, had heard the colony’s call for help. The Space Marines of the Exorcists, hardened by the nightmarish horrors of the warp, stood their ground. With near-perfect efficiency, they executed crossfire in pre-established fire pockets, denying the Genestealers the advantage of speed and numbers.

Librarian Castametion, showcasing his formidable power, tracked down the Brood Lords, incinerating them with radiant fire. The survivors of Stone Crawl owed their lives to the Exorcists, their saviors becoming the stuff of legends, their haunting chants echoing in their dreams.

In the years 908 through 912, the Exorcists, bolstered by the second, third, fifth, and the sixth reserve tactical companies, along with the 11th scout company and half of the first veteran company, took part in the Badab War. Commanded by the renowned captain of the third company, Silas Alberec, they arrived to reinforce the Loyalists, marking another chapter in their enduring legacy.

Join us next time as we continue our journey through the epic saga of the Exorcists and their unyielding fight for the Imperium. The darkness may be vast, but the light of the Exorcists shines brighter. Until then, keep your bolters loaded and your faith in the Emperor unwavering.
