Few more words about Daemon Engines – Part 2

Title: The Beastly Symphony of Carnage: Blood Crushers of the Blood God

In the deathly realms of Warhammer 40,000, where mortals and immortals clash in a never-ending war, there exist demonic entities of such immense power that they are only tamed by the most formidable of beings. One such entity is the Juggernaut, a monstrous war-beast of Khorne, the Blood God.

In the crimson-tinted forges of Khorne, amid a chain of smoke-belching spires and blazing volcanoes, the lesser demons or Bloodletters strive to prove their worth to the Blood God. Their ultimate test? To capture a Juggernaut, a trial only considered complete when the beast is brought to the pens of Khorne’s forges.

The task is daunting, to say the least. The Bloodletters must use every ounce of their brute strength and cunning to track, hunt, and ultimately subdue the beast. They fend off the beast’s attacks with their hellish blades, writing their dominance in the language of violence until the Juggernaut shows some semblance of submission.

But more often than not, these attempts prove unsuccessful. The domains of the Juggernauts are littered with the remains of many potential heralds, testament to the beast’s ferocity and strength. Thus, the opportunity to ride into battle upon the back of a Juggernaut is an honor only the most dogged of Bloodletters can hope to achieve.

These chosen demons are formidable warriors, having spilled blood across countless worlds and collected many skulls for Khorne. Their selection as riders doesn’t stem from conscious choice, but from instinct, guided by the inscrutable will of the Blood God.

Once chosen, the Bloodletters armed with runic chains are drawn into the dark labyrinths of the pens. They emerge later, if at all, having subdued the beast. Yet this is but the beginning of their transformation into a Demon Rider.

Becoming a Demon Rider is a grueling process. The Bloodletter must win the war-beast’s submission; a battle of demonic wills that many have lost, thrown off and hammered into the devastated ground of Khorne’s domain by their rebellious steeds.

Once the bond is formed, the Demon Rider and his Juggernaut become an unstoppable embodiment of carnage. Together, they deliver the first cruel strike in the legions of Khorne, their Juggernauts becoming terrifying rams breaking through enemy lines, turning fortifications into a bloody morass while their riders reap countless skulls in the name of Khorne.

Over the millennia, the atrocities committed by these demonic steeds and their riders have become legends, their names echoing with dread across the realms of mortals. Among all the Juggernauts who have made a bloody name for themselves, few are feared more than…

The tale of the Juggernauts and their Demon Riders continues in our next entry. Stay tuned for more tales of blood and carnage from the war-stricken realms of Warhammer 40,000.
