In the grim darkness of the far future, a war rages on the sacred Forge World of Metallica. The Fabricator General, the highest authority of this world, stands firm in his faith in the divine Omnia – the divine embodiment of the Machine God. His trust in the purity of Metallica’s production, its holy New Sphere, and its auto-illuminated engines is unshakeable, a testament to his staunch beliefs. Any suggestion of corruption is a vile heresy he refuses to entertain, even as the dark tides of Chaos approach.
Trapped within his Forge Shrine, the Fabricator General wrestles with a recursive logical cycle, a mental tug of war between the irrefutable evidence of invasion and his unwavering faith. He dismisses the strategic communiques flooding in from other subsectors, clinging to the idea that the encroaching darkness is an impossibility, a statistical anomaly.
Time passes. Imperial hopes for swift retribution fade. The enemy, led by the formidable Typhus, seizes initiative. From the 891st to the 940th cycle of Metallican chronology, the systems of Alyx and Duralum fall, and Chromid is drawn into a prolonged war of attrition. The once impenetrable gates of Metallica are threatened and the Fabricator General is forced to reconcile with reality.
Giving the nod to the Imperial commanders on land and in the void, he permits them to act at their discretion. An edict is issued, commanding his soldiers to act with the confidence of the Omnis himself. The defense of Metallica and the neighboring systems of Radiar, Banus, and Fyro become paramount. In a world where the enemy has demonstrated their ability to circumvent conventional warp routes, the concentration of Imperial forces around Metallica is the only way to ensure the Forge World’s sanctity.
As the Fabricator General’s edict echoes through vox communications and astropath relays, the Imperial forces find themselves caught in a whirlwind of confusion and rapid deployment. Skitarii cohorts, battle servitors, and Titans scramble to obey the edict, their movements causing ripples of uncertainty among the Astra Militarum regiments.
In the Chromed system, the Fabricator General’s edict causes uproar. It’s perceived as an outright betrayal. The frontlines are abandoned, and all hope of halting the relentless advance of the Death Guard is extinguished. The planet Torzo becomes a slaughterhouse, its defenders trapped and afflicted by metaphysical ailments, forced to swear fealty to Nurgle or face an abhorrent death.
Yet, amid the despair, a spark of resistance flickers. On the death world of Sabira, the indigenous inhabitants join forces with surviving Imperial Guardsmen. They form a guerilla army, tormenting heretic warbands, and establish hidden air bases deep within the thicket. They’re spurred on by the audacity of their actions and the desperate need to resist.
The Imperial defenders of Durm find themselves in a dire situation, their world abandoned by the Metallica. The combined efforts of Typhus and Lord Zade lead to the capture of numerous worlds in the void, their heretical warships prowling, annihilating scattered Imperial forces. Yet, the Imperium has not completely forsaken these desperate defenders. The Space Marines of the Order of Torturers respond to distress signals, launching a counterattack, their small ships plunging into the roiling warp, ready to reinforce the frontline.
Thus, the saga continues. The stakes are high, the battles fierce, and the future of Metallica hangs in the balance. As the forces of the Imperium rally, the Fabricator General finds his faith tested like never before. Will he break or will he stand firm in the face of the enemy? Only time will tell.
