What happened with Primarchs before Emperor found them? – Part 15

In the grand narrative of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, there exists a multitude of stories, but none as captivating as the tale of the Primarchs. Today, we delve into the saga of two such extraordinary beings – Primarch Corvus Corax and Alpharius. This is just a fragment of our multi-part series exploring the profound lore of the Warhammer 40K universe.

The tale of Corvus Corax is as compelling as it is tragic. His journey begins on the barren moon of Lus, a satellite of the planet Kiava. At the time, Kiava was a technologically advanced Forge World, its city-sized factories filled with legions of laborers mining minerals from Lus. The moon was not home to ordinary citizens, but criminals, political dissidents, and workers who failed to meet their quotas.

In this bleak, dystopian landscape, a pale-skinned infant was found by a slave named Nasturi EI. Recognizing the child’s divine presence, Nasturi named him ‘Korax’, translating to ‘The Deliverer’ in their tongue. The child was hidden from the merciless Lords of Kiava and trained in essential skills by the slaves. He rapidly matured into a formidable leader and warrior.

Corax, embraced as the chosen savior, began to stir rebellion amongst the oppressed. He organized the workers into fighting units, instigating riots and strikes against their oppressors. The moment for revolution arrived, and Corax’s forces seized control, decimating the defensive forces of Lus. With strategic brilliance, he thwarted the retaliation from Kiava, crushing their supply lines and annihilating their cities with nuclear weaponry.

With the downfall of Kiava’s rulers, the inhabitants of Lus rejoiced in victory, renaming their home to Deliverance. It was at this triumphant moment that the Emperor of Mankind appeared. After a day and a night in private communion with his newfound son, the Emperor appointed Corax as the Primarch of the Raven Guard Legion.

In contrast to Corax’s dramatic tale of rebellion and victory, the discovery of Alpharius, the last Primarch, was shrouded in secrecy. He was found on a plateau outside the Imperial Palace on Holy Terra, and the Emperor had to kill a group of scavengers to keep his discovery a secret.

“I am the Emperor,” the golden giant revealed to Alpharius, “I am your father. And as for you, you are my son.” Alpharius, head of the Hydra, was then concealed from even the Emperor’s most trusted custodian, Constantine Valdor.

Trained personally by Malcador the Sigillite, Alpharius was tasked with keeping his existence a secret and exploring the Imperial Palace for vulnerabilities. Through a staged assassination attempt on the Emperor, Alpharius revealed his identity to Valdor, intriguing him with the palace’s vulnerabilities he had discovered.

Thus, in the heart of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, two more epic tales of the Primarchs unfurl. One, a tale of rebellion and liberation, and the other, a well-guarded secret laden with intrigue and subterfuge. Join us as we continue to explore the vast, complex lore of the Warhammer 40,000 universe in our multi-part series.
