Officio Assassinorum – Far more deadly than even the Spacemarines – Part 6

“Welcome back to another exhilarating dive into the grim darkness of the far future, where the grim line between friend and foe blurs and twisted loyalties thrive in the shadows. We continue our riveting multi-part series, focusing on a particular subset of the lore: the intriguing power plays, dark sorcery, and bloody battles of Warhammer 40,000.

In this saga, we delve into the reign of a tyrant who ruled his dominion with an iron fist, engendering whispers that he had secured several doses of the Elixir from the populations of other planets. That is, until as we surmise, rival warriors from The Emperor’s Children Legion overthrew him.

We shift our gaze to a captivating figure in power armor, adorned with writhing symbols. A shimmering cloak of feathers draped over its shoulders, a snarling golden mask concealing its face. Meet Sorcerer Youmore, the Deceiver. It is believed he orchestrated the terrifying massacre in Reis. Imagine, if you dare, the entire populations of six worlds in the system, over 6 billion souls, ending their lives in a ritual suicide in one night. A chilling thought, isn’t it? It’s suspected that he masterminded the creation and spread of the End of the World cult, aiming to harness the psychic power generated by such massive death.

Rumor has it, he is presently on one of Abedin’s battle barges, but not the same one as Zarap Fiston. It seems they are both seeking Abedin’s favor. As for our mission, it’s speculated that the Deceiver is aware but will likely not interfere, as he only stands to gain from the downfall of his rivals. However, this is merely conjecture, and we must prepare for his inevitable intervention.

Let’s introduce you to two more players in this high-stakes game of power and destruction. Enter two warriors, one sporting a black helmet with bronze carass, a power halberd with a serrated blade gripped in his hand. The armor he wore was adorned with snarling demon skulls. His helmet was shaped like a bloodthirsty wolf’s muzzle, horns sprouting from the forehead as if fused to his skull. The second one, a grotesque creature, wore bloated armor resembling living flesh. Open wounds and bubos oozed vile slime, a rusty sword in hand, and where a face should be, yellow pus continuously seeped. Unsettling, isn’t it?

Their identities remain shrouded in mystery, yet they have been spotted in the vicinity of Cardia over the last century. Astropath psychometry suggests they ventured to the Eye of Terror in search of the Heart of Chaos. Does it exist? Who knows. But Imperial tarot readings suggest these two are pivotal in Abedin’s plans, marking them for destruction.

For the first time in centuries, these traitors are rallying under their lord’s banner. The looming omens revealed should not be ignored. Rest assured, the Aikio Assassinorum has trained the finest assassins in the Holy Teran Empire of the Emperor. They will not fail. The full briefing text will be available in the agitators of their cabins for careful study. Exitus acta probat, as the instructor advised his charges, knowing he would never see them alive again.

Now, let’s journey back to the Era of Apostasy, a time marked by the bloody reign of Lord Govenir, who held the dual power as Master of the Administratum and head of the Ministorum. His rule was a living nightmare for countless Imperial citizens. Those bold enough to oppose him were killed, and entire star systems that failed to pay exorbitant tithe were bombarded with virus bombs. His charismatic sway over the bureaucrats and the fanatic soldiers of the Emperor’s Church led to bloody religious crusades, branding and subduing those deemed heretics and blasphemers.

The Imperium’s organizations rallied against the delusional Vandire, leading to the Wars of Apostasy. Five chapters of the adeptus astates, along with the Armed Forces of the adeptus mechanicus, descended upon the Imperial Palace, aiming to end his bloody rule. In an ironic twist, his personal guards, the Daughters of the Emperor, turned against him upon learning from the Emperor of mankind himself that Vandire was destroying his empire. Alysia Dominica, the leader of the Daughters of the Emperor, beheaded Vandire with a power sword, marking his end.

In the post-Vandire era, terror reigned supreme. Many fled in fear of the…”
