Why Are Eldar Aspect Warriors Feared Across the Galaxy? – Part 10

Welcome back to the next installment of our Warhammer 40,000 universe exploration! Today, we delve into the infernal depths of the Eldar’s fiery warriors, the Fire Dragons. These warriors are a force to be reckoned with and are the living embodiment of unbridled destruction, reminiscent of the mythological fire-breathing serpentine monster from Eldar epics.

The Fire Dragons are unparalleled in their aggression and martial prowess. Their single-minded focus? Nothing less than the complete annihilation of foes. They are virtuosos of weapons that manipulate heat and flame, deriving an almost savage satisfaction from the devastation they bring. Legend has it that their Exarchs, the leaders of these warriors, are surrounded by a blazing halo when consumed by their killing thirst.

In the Aspect Shrines, the Fire Dragon initiates undergo rigorous trials and dangerous rituals. Their training sharpens their abilities, preparing them for the potential day when they must defend their home world. Every Fire Dragon warrior, thanks to this intense training, can identify a target’s vulnerable point with just a glance. Such expertise extends beyond mere construction principles – it’s a deep, intuitive understanding. For instance, a Fire Dragon Exarch can intuitively discern how to obliterate a tank with a single shot, even if they’ve never seen it before.

The Fire Dragons wield a weapon that personifies their destructive ideology – the Fusion Gun. This lethal weapon can transform impenetrable armor into a cloud of superheated steam in a heartbeat. By causing hyper vibrations in the target’s molecules, the Fusion Gun generates immense heat, causing the target to ignite, melt, and evaporate. With such power at their disposal, the Fire Dragons can tackle any enemy.

However, their true mission is the absolute annihilation of the most formidable war machines and the demolition of unassailable defensive positions. While the precision and power of their weapons may not be as effective against hordes of lesser foes like the green-skinned tribes or the screeching creatures of the hive fleets, their contribution in combat against elite units is invaluable.

The Fire Dragons have taught the Space Marines, the Imperial Guard tank drivers, and the TOA Empire through bitter combat that the appearance of the fiercely painted Fire Dragons significantly increases their chances of annihilating a designated target. The Fire Dragons often utilize Grav Tanks to get closer to the enemy before they can escape, striking swiftly and brutally.

Should the Eldar Army need to suppress an enemy firepoint or breach a fortress, they turn to the Fire Dragons. Their arsenal includes Melter Bombs, which are cleverly attached to fortifications or mechanical leviathans and detonated remotely. There is simply no escape from the white-hot fury of the Fire Dragons.

Prominent among the Fire Dragons are the Exarchs, many of whom follow the example of Fuegan, the Burning Lance, by going into battle with the Fire Pike. This weapon’s effective range significantly exceeds that of the standard Fusion Gun. Others prefer the Dragon’s Breath Flamer, which is perfect for facing a horde of infantry.

The Fire Dragon’s Rune, a symbol of a destroyer on the hunt, has long been associated with the overthrow of tyrants and the smoky wastes left in the wake of these Aspect Warriors. Known shrines include the Blazing Fang Shrine and the Burning Wing Shrine. In the Blazing Fang Shrine, enemy armor is taken down with focused blasts from their Fusion Guns. If a vehicle survives the initial assault, the warriors deliver a payload of Melter Bombs into its glowing wound, finishing the job in a spectacular explosion. The Burning Wing Shrine’s Aspect Warriors rarely enter battle without Wave Serpent support, ensuring they can strike swiftly and decisively.
