Why Are Eldar Aspect Warriors Feared Across the Galaxy? – Part 18

The legends of valiant warriors and their steeds have been passed down from generation to generation. In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, these tales are brought to life by The Shining Spears.

Swooping into battle, these warriors ride atop anti-gravity jet bikes. Their mounts, capable of breathtaking speed, can traverse even the most uneven terrains with ease. Like the spear of Kyam Mena kan, The Shining Spears strike like lightning, dealing lethal blows with a single hit.

The concentration and reflexes of these warriors are unparalleled. Whether they’re racing through dense jungles or dashing among crumbling structures, they never slow down. The Shining Spears are so adept at controlling their jet bikes that they can perform complex maneuvers with just a slight hand movement. Their intuition and understanding of their steeds allow them to confidently guide it into vertical ascents or inspiring spins, a feat unparalleled by any other alien race.

The Shining Spears’ impressive skills are honed over countless years of training within the vast Aspect Shrines. It is said that these warriors never leave their saddles, even during meditation. In flight, they can sense the slightest changes in the hum of their bike’s anti-gravity engines, allowing them to steer with their eyes closed.

In battle, The Shining Spears’ superior control over their jet bikes makes them practically impossible targets. Their ritual weapon, the laser lance, is a long and formidable weapon capable of releasing powerful beams at short distances. With this weapon, a rider can inflict devastating damage even before crashing into enemy ranks – clearing a path to their intended target and delivering a crushing blow upon reaching it.

The Shining Spears are known for their audacity and relentless assault. Unleashing a barrage of shots and strikes, they break away from the enemy, only to turn around and charge again. This constant movement presents a perpetual danger to the enemy – few can survive their first onslaught and even fewer can withstand their subsequent charges.

The finest warriors amongst The Shining Spears, the Exarchs, are chosen to carry one of the shrine’s sacred weapons – the star lance, a powerful version of the laser lance, or a power weapon. The Exarch’s jet bike can also replace its catapults for a stronger shuriken cannon.

The insignia of The Shining Spears represents a warrior’s promise – a promise of quick, painful, and inevitable death to the enemies of the Eldar. This promise is eagerly kept by the Aspect Warriors.

Among the known shrines of The Shining Spears are the Swift Kill Shrine, known for their daring charges and dark azure helms; the Blooded Blade Shrine, often riding to the defense of Maiden worlds under threat of invasion; and the Riders of Cain Shrine, whose devastating charges inspire their allies.

The founder of The Shining Spears aspect, Danta, passed down these teachings to the Craft World San two generations after the fall. Despite his legacy being largely material, his celestial lance remains a symbol of his might. Danta was known for his arrogance and propensity for unnecessary fights, which often resulted in him being late to aid his fellow warriors. Yet, his teachings and legacy continue to inspire the current generation of warriors, ensuring that the legend of The Shining Spears lives on.
