Title: Alarius: The Hidden Primarch and the Echoes of Imperium
Welcome back, dear readers, to another installment of our Warhammer 40,000 series, as we delve deep into the mysterious and often turbulent life of Alarius, the first-found son of the Emperor.
Alarius, a Primarch of immense power and wisdom, found himself feeling momentarily inadequate as his father reassured him that all was well. He couldn't shake off the sensation that something had gone terribly wrong during his journey. Had he been marked indelibly by the intervention of chaos? Or had his soul been divided, lost in fragments, after his first encounter with the Chaos Gods? These questions haunted the young Primarch, yet the truth remained elusive.
Soon after his discovery, Alarius was handed over to Malador the Sigite, who bore the hefty responsibility of educating the future warrior. His task was not simple. He was to instill the Emperor's values into the Primarch, teaching him to prioritize the common design over personal ambitions and foster a deep devotion to his father's ideals.
Despite the many mysteries and controversies that still surround Alarius, one thing is clear - his education was anything but a failure. His existence, a carefully guarded secret from all, including his brother Horus and the other Primarchs discovered after him, was a beacon of hope for the Emperor.
The secrecy around Alarius was born out of fear that the ruinous powers might try to intervene and harm the only Primarch found. Consequently, Alarius grew up in the deep, hidden citadels beneath the Imperial Palace, unaware of their existence. He was raised with the heavy burden that one day, the responsibility of the entire Imperium would rest solely on his shoulders.
Throughout his formative years, Alarius thirsted for wisdom, applying it through experience. Intriguingly, during his encounters with Malador the Sigite, he developed the ability to shield his mind from invasions. This skill matured from simple regicide matches to more complex exercises, culminating in Alarius learning not just to hide his thoughts, but to shield them behind false ideas.
Unlike his brother Corvus Corax, who could dissolve into shadows, Alarius possessed a unique gift. He could become someone who did not arouse suspicion. At will, Alarius could alter his height, voice, appearance, and even mimic someone else's speech and accent. This ability allowed him to leave the Imperial Palace, take on a new identity, and live amongst ordinary citizens, even finding employment and earning a living. This undoubtedly deepened his understanding of human psychology, a trait that would prove invaluable for the most secretive Legion.
Alarius' existence remained a mystery to all, including the loyal Custodes. The Primarch could take on the appearance of internal palace personnel, leading to confusion and intrigue. His ability to deceive was perhaps influenced by the tutelage of the Sigite, but the exact origins remain a mystery.
The Emperor graced Alarius with his presence only twice. On one such occasion, he invited the Primarch to witness the result of the Aatto project - the creation of the first full-fledged Space Marines. Alarius, already matured, was stunned to learn that one of the 20 future Legions would essentially be a union of his brothers. The Emperor proudly referred to them as a pale copy of the actual masterpiece, leaving Alarius curious about the loss of the incubation capsules.
As Alarius pondered on these revelations, he realized that the power of suggestion wielded by the Emperor could be overcome by his sons. A realization dawned upon him - he and his brothers had a choice to believe. This realization would shape the future of Alarius and the Imperium, stirring the waters of destiny.
