In the aftermath of the ferocious battle against the Orcs on Ren, a remarkable incident unfolded that has since become an epic part of Warhammer 40K lore. When a malfunctioning missile from the Fortress Monastery’s defensive system almost wiped out The Defenders, there emerged an unlikely hero: the Land Raider Rin’s Might. Despite being ravaged by the explosion, Rin’s Might, awakened by the machine spirit, set out on a solo mission. Its sole command? Find and destroy.
For several tense hours, Rin's Might clawed its way from the debris, then embarked on a relentless hunt for the enemy. When it finally clashed with the Orc Vanguard, it was a scene of absolute chaos and destruction. Las cannons and heavy bolters set Orc trucks and buggies aflame, turning them into deadly, burning coffins. Not satisfied with destroying 30 Orc machines, Rin's Might continued its relentless search, prowling the ruins of the burning Fortress for three days, dealing with Orc patrols as it encountered them.
In the eerie cloak of darkness, Rin's Might stumbled upon a Xeno Camp. The Orcs were caught off guard by the sudden appearance of a lone assault tank blaring battlecries from its loudspeakers. Capitalizing on the confusion, Rin's Might charged into battle, its artificial eyes and ears outperforming the Orcs'. Despite the rockets and energy projectiles that scorched its hull, it never slowed down for a second, crushing bikes and Orcs under its heavy tracks.
The Orcs attempted to muster a counterattack, and their warlord rallied the bravest boys and knobs against the enraged lone machine. Undeterred, Rin's Might surged towards the war leader, ignoring the projectiles bouncing off its thick armor. Eventually, the Land Raider was immobilized by a well-aimed shot from the warlord's crude gun.
But Rin's Might had a final surprise. As the Orcs clambered onto its armor and began hammering it with bombs, it opened all its hatches, luring the loot-hungry greenskins inside. Once the Orcs were trapped within, the machine spirit sealed the exits and overloaded its internal reactor, unleashing streams of hot plasma and poisonous gases that eradicated the trapped Orcs. The aftermath? A tank turned tomb.
Later, the Mag found the remains of Rin's Might and ordered a guard detail, vowing to retrieve the machine spirit and give it a new body in which it could continue to fight with all its fury and steadfastness. This tale serves as a testament to the tenacity of the Crimson Fists, descendants of Dorn, who retreat reluctantly and view defeat as a bitter pill to swallow, a lesson to be learned.
The Crimson Fists continue to fight not just for honor and glory, but for the survival of the chapter itself. This was evident in the year 999 of the 33rd Millennium, when they confronted the Tau Empire in the Zeist Sector. The Tau Empire's expansionist activities had reached the edges of the Imperial borders by the year 997 of the 33rd Millennium, leading to a call for reinforcements from Imperial planetary Governors. Despite the onslaught by The Hive Fleet Leviathan and increasing raids of chaos renegades from the Maelstrom, the Crimson Fists answered the call, showcasing once again their unwavering resolve and commitment to the survival of the chapter.
