Story of Ragnar Blackmane – Part 4

Title: The Space Wolves: Ragnar, The Bloodclaw

In the vast Warhammer 40,000 universe, on one of the countless planets overseen by the Allfather, a narrative of relentless valor and unwavering loyalty unfolds. Here, we delve into the journey of Ragnar, a young Space Wolf, bred for battle and destined to face the most formidable evil lurking in the cosmos. These agents of malevolence, capable of devouring universes, meet their match in Ragnar, a beacon of courage in the heart of darkness.

Ragnar’s saga begins as a Bloodclaw, a novice Space Wolf, anticipating the return of a Wolf Lord to Fenris to bolster his pack. Yet, destiny had other plans, and before he knew it, Ragnar found himself thrust into the heat of battle.

When communication with one of the Fang’s patrols ceased, Ragnar’s squad, led by Sergeant Hangist, was dispatched to investigate. They discovered an entrance to an ancient underground utility network, a relic from when the first colonists came to Fenris. With communications failing, Hangist and his team descended into the depths, only to find themselves in a subterranean nightmare.

The catacombs were inhabited by mutated descendants of the original colonists. Still, these abominations proved no match for the Emperor’s finest warriors. Cutting a bloody swath through the mutants, they stumbled upon a terrifying sight: a temple dedicated to the Changer of Ways, and the remains of the missing patrol.

A traitor from the Thousand Sons had infiltrated Fenris – a sorcerer named Maddox. His machinations remained a mystery, but one thing was clear to the Space Wolves: they could not let him succeed. Sergeant Hangist and a few brave Bloodclaws held back the traitors, while Ragnar and his comrades raced to the surface to rally reinforcements from the Fang.

Outmatched and outnumbered, the Bloodclaws fell before the seasoned Sorcerer and his Rubric Marines. But their sacrifice bought Ragnar the precious time he needed. Emerging on the surface, he came face-to-face with Maddox. In a clash of titans, Ragnar, with unexpected aid from the gravely injured Stribor, struck down Maddox.

With the chaos invasion on Fenris thwarted, Ragnar’s first encounter with the dark forces of Chaos was a trial by fire. But the universe wasn’t done testing Ragnar. An Inquisitor named Sternberg arrived on Fenris, seeking the Wolves’ assistance to combat a deadly epidemic on his home world. To do this, he needed a shard of an ancient Eldar artifact safeguarded on Fenris.

Reluctantly, The Great Wolf Logan Grimnar, bound by duty, allowed Sternberg to use the shard. But he wasn’t about to let it go without a fight. He dispatched a squad of Bloodclaws, including Ragnar, to accompany Sternberg and ensure the shard’s safe return.

Their quest led them to G, a planet under demonic invasion, where another shard of the artifact was held. After a fierce confrontation with a demonic War Boss, the Wolves emerged victorious, claiming the second shard. Their next destination was a space Hulk, where the final shard was guarded by Genestealers.

Stay tuned for the next chapter in Ragnar’s epic journey, where the Space Wolves’ mettle is tested against the formidable Genestealers. The saga continues!
