War of the Beast – When the Imperium Could Have Ended – Part 4

In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, there’s no shortage of epic tales to be told. One such tale caught my attention today, and I’m eager to share it with you, fellow lore enthusiasts. This is the tale of Lariel, the Seer, and her fateful journey to the Emperor, a tale of bravery, betrayal, and the fight against the Xenos threat.

From the far-flung reaches of the Craftworld Ulwe, Lariel was dispatched by Eldred Ulan, their illustrious leader. Her mission? To deliver a vital message to the Emperor himself. Her proof of intent? A tooth from the legendary Nocturne Drake, a gift from the Primarch Vulkan to Eldred. A gift that suddenly propelled the events into a swift and dizzying motion.

As if scripted by the hands of fate, the Last Wall, humanity’s bulwark against the relentless Ork onslaught, came crashing down upon their Attack Moon. Leading the charge was Captain Kin and his 2800 battle-hardened brothers, backed by the Martian forces consisting of five Skitarii detachments, seven cohorts of the Legio Cybernetica, and the entire battlefleet of the Red Planet.

Like the Emperor’s avenging sword, they descended upon the Xenos. Cyclonic Torpedoes, the Imperium’s world-ending weapons, struck the Attack Moon, reducing it to a flaming husk. Undeterred by the devastation, Humanity’s finest warriors, Terminator Space Marines, and Martian Skitarii, charged into battle. Mechanicus Robots, with unerring precision, turned enemy positions into fiery graves.

However, the Orks were not to be underestimated. Their gravity whip whirled mercilessly, tearing Imperial ships apart. It was a hard-won victory, but the Attack Moon’s portal was finally disabled, thanks to the Iron Knights’ timely arrival and their master Malons’ heroic sacrifice.

The victory against the Greenskins invigorated the Imperium, but its glory was usurped by the Lord Commander of the Imperium, Udin M Udo, whose contributions were questionable at best. As Terra celebrated its liberation, Udo convened the Last Wall’s masters and reprimanded them for violating the Codex Astartes, attempting to keep the Imperial Fists’ destruction a secret. His audacity did not end there, as he even attempted to remove the Inquisition from the Senatorum Imperialis. This was the final straw, and Udo was promptly removed from power.

Yet, the intrigue didn’t end there. The Adeptus Mechanicus, who had behaved suspiciously throughout the crisis, demanded the remnants of the Attack Moon. This, along with their previous actions, raised enough eyebrows to warrant an investigation. A contingent of Fists Exemplars was dispatched to Mars, only to be met with a fully battle-ready Mechanicus army. A stray shot ignited a bloodbath, a senseless slaughter that only ended with the intervention of the Fabricator General of Mars, Kubic.

With the revelation of Kubic’s plan to use Ork teleportation technology to remove Mars from the solar system, leaving Terra at the mercy of the Beast, the situation escalated even further. This tale, dear readers, remains a testament to the trials and tribulations, the bravery and the treachery that unfold in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Until the next tale, keep your bolters ready and your faith in the Emperor strong.
