Who Really Was Kelbor Hal? – Part 3

Title: War of Mars: A Tale of Chaos and Power

In the tumultuous universe of Warhammer 40,000, there are tales of daring souls, devastating wars, and unknown schematics that have cost millions of lives. One such tale revolves around the complex character, Kel Bal. This tale is part of a multi-part series, and we’ll delve into the details that led to one of the most fascinating conflicts on Mars.

Kel Bal’s journey begins as his metallic fingers touch a disc, causing streams of electrons to relay information. This information, originating from Regulus, held blueprints for an unknown model of Aarti’s battle armor and schematics for the production of solar generators potent enough to power an Epsilon 5 type Forge complex. However, Kel Bal found himself in a conundrum; he feared exchanging one tyrant for another.

At this juncture, Ambassador Melat dared to voice the question on everyone’s lips, “What else can the Warm offer to confirm his friendship?” Regulus, prepared for this, articulated the will of the Warm, lifting the bands on the research of abominable intelligence technologies, and allowed the opening of the vaults of Moravec.

The opening of the Forbidden repository was nothing short of chaos. Scrap code spread across all communication channels of the planet, disrupting systems, halting production lines, melting reactors, and disabling forges. It was a period of general chaos, a perfect time for Kel Bal and his allies to mobilize their forces. Using their newly acquired Forbidden Knowledge, they created terrifying battle models called Petorian battle servitors, monstrous machines moving on mechanical supports, wide rubber wheels, or tracks.

However, swaying the population of the planet to his side was a task harder than Kel Bal had anticipated. The Newsphere-connected cities remained inaccessible to the Blessed scrap code, and he still needed a pretext to start a planetary war. His allies attempted to provoke those who refused to join them through sabotage, murder, and direct aggression. Ultimately, they found the perfect cause – the heresy of Technomic Coral Zth. She renounced the Machine God, turned away from Kel Bal, and allowed a man not of the Mechanicum Cult to work on the Blessed mechanism. This was the spark that ignited the planetary war.

The first strike was launched against the forges of the renegade Magos Matias Kefra, housed within the Mler crater in the Sinus Saus region of Mars. Further north in the Arabian region, the Great God Engine fabrication yards of High Magos Aotp in the Cassini crater were obliterated by lightning bombardment struck by a 100 thermonuclear missiles. The Basilica of the Blessed Algorithm was also attacked, and the Mechanicum Glorian Frigate shot down in orbit crashed onto it.

The conflict escalated rapidly, with battles raging even in the orbital docks. The warriors loyal to Kel Bal attacked the Ismenus Laus Forge City, striking it from the air with life-eater virus bombs. The pathogen exterminated the million-strong population living in the vicinity of Ianal, spreading through the tactician network, infecting even those who felt safe behind hermetic barriers.

As Mars blazed, all who did not wish to join the war perished in the purifying flames. Kel Bal rejoiced, intoxicated by the power stored in the Moravec. Each passing day brought new wonders as the Mechanicum found new ways to embody their ideas in metal and flesh. The forges of those adepts and Magos who had sworn loyalty to the cause of Horus Lupal were already creating monstrous machines of destruction, heralding a new authority in the galaxy.
