What happened with Primarchs before Emperor found them? – Part 13

Title: “Lorgar: The Raincaller and Bearer of the Word – A Warhammer 40,000 Tale”

In the shadowy laboratories of Luna, a saga was brewing that would forever change the course of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Amongst the twenty primarchs stolen by the malevolent forces of Chaos, an infant was discovered on the arid, feudal planet known as Kulus. This child, found by the nomadic tribe of outcasts known as the Declined under the leadership of Fan Morgal, was salvaged from a damaged capsule and given a new identity – Lorgar, the Raincaller.

Lorgar’s extraordinary growth was evident from the outset, reaching the size of a six-month-old child merely 17 days after his discovery. This divine anomaly was observed by Core Faron, an exiled priest of the Covenant, who travelled throughout Kulus spreading his doctrine. Recognising the celestial origin in Lorgar, he was quick to tap into the child’s potential, grooming him to be his disciple and a future kingpin in his grand scheme of planetary domination.

To protect the divine secret they harbored, Core Faron eradicated the tribe that had raised Lorgar, keeping him hidden from local priests and subjecting him to a rigorous education and brutal punishments. Yet, Lorgar thrived, absorbing the oratorical prowess of his teacher, and began amassing followers who considered him as a messenger of higher powers.

The dynamics soon shifted when the Cult members, in awe of Lorgar, refused Core Faron’s order to punish the primarch. A rebellion sparked, culminating in a dramatic turn of events where Lorgar saved his foster father’s life. In gratitude and recognition of Lorgar’s power, Core Faron appointed him as the new Bearer of the Word.

One fateful night, Lorgar was gifted with a vision, the song of the Emperion, a melody sung by the universe itself, prophesying the arrival of a divine entity who would be the end and the beginning of everything. Core Faron, on hearing this vision, proclaimed Lorgar as the Lightbearer, the one destined to dispel the darkness of disbelief and cleanse the heretics.

Unleashed upon Kulus with his divine truths, Lorgar’s mission spread like wildfire. He began a campaign of liberation, freeing slaves and spreading his new faith of the One, promising deliverance from ignorance and fear. Lorgar’s speech, designed to inspire and motivate, was a call to arms for the downtrodden, promising a future where they would be judged by their deeds, not their station, and where the one true power would descend from the Emperion, bringing peace and purpose.

His message was clear: “We have nothing to lose but our chains.”

In this riveting tale of power, faith, and liberation, Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, emerges as a pivotal figure in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, a beacon of hope in a world plagued by fear and uncertainty as penned by the masterful Gav Thorp. Stay tuned for the next chapter in this multi-part series, as we delve deeper into the labyrinthine world of Warhammer 40,000.
