The Unyielding Determination of Roboute Guilliman
In a pivotal moment that would change the course of human history, Roboute Guilliman stood before the Golden Throne, facing the Emperor who had lain dormant for millennia. The air was thick with anticipation as the Emperor’s eyes snapped open, and Guilliman felt an unrelenting barrage of dark truths about the galaxy and its troubled past. Though the specifics of their conversation remain unclear, one thing is certain: Guilliman emerged from this encounter with an unwavering determination to save humanity.
With newfound resolve, Guilliman rallied the High Lords of Terra and declared his intention to reorganize and rearm the Imperium under his leadership. He assumed the mantle of Lord Commander, later declaring himself Imperial Regent – the living embodiment of the Emperor’s will. One of his first acts in this new role was to defend Terra against the forces of Khorne in the Second Battle of Terra.
The Indomitus Crusade and Beyond
Guilliman’s unwavering dedication led him to launch the Indomitus Crusade, a century-long campaign aimed at reclaiming worlds isolated from Terra by the Great Rift. As supreme commander and chief administrator of the Imperium, he oversaw vast campaigns spearheaded by Belisarius Cawl’s Primaris Space Marines and implemented sweeping civic reforms that culminated in the Codex Imperialis. When the Plague Wars threatened his sons, Guilliman rushed back to Ultramar to protect them, surviving an assassination attempt by Mortarion, Typhus, and Ku’Gath on Parmenio.
Undeterred by the risks, Guilliman confronted Mortarion on Iax, determined to thwart the Daemon Primarch’s plans. Though he was defeated and infected with the deadly Godblight, Guilliman’s spirit refused to yield. In a surreal vision, he saw himself reunited with the Emperor, and through their bond, he tapped into the Emperor’s psychic might, springing back to life and unleashing a devastating attack on the Garden of Nurgle.
A New Era Dawns
As Guilliman reappeared on Iax, he shared the news of his victory with Colquan and later met with the recovered Militant-Apostolic Mathieu. With the Emperor’s return imminent, Guilliman began to question his former atheism, seeking answers from Cawl Inferior about the meaning of the Emperor’s return and godhood. With a newfound sense of purpose, Guilliman expressed his intention to leave the Imperium Sanctus and journey into Imperium Nihilus to shore up its defenses, ushering in a new era of hope and determination for humanity.
A Leader Forged in Strength and Duty
Roboute Guilliman is a man of unyielding resolve, forged in the fire of duty and strength. His features are chiseled, like those of a regent on an old coin, with a jawline that echoes the nobility of his brother Dorn. His eyes gleam with a sense of purpose, sometimes flashing with the rogue glint of the Khan or the solemnity of the Lion. Through his writings and codifications, Guilliman seeks to harness the power of information, ever striving to achieve greatness without excuse or apology.
