Journey through Eldar History – Part 2

Title: The Eldar Chronicles: Divided Houses, Prophetic Dreams, and Gods at War – Part One

In the ancient times of the Eldar, when the barriers between gods and mortals were as thin as gossamer, a tale of treachery, prophecy, and war played out, forever shaping the destiny of the Eldar race.

This cosmic drama began with a family feud – a bitter quarrel between two Eldar brothers. When the elder brother banished his sibling into the harsh desert, the stage was set for a divine intervention that would change the course of history. The God of War, Cain, ever opportunistic, relished the opportunity to fan the flames of discord. He sent a deadly scorpion to assassinate the younger brother, UL Thanesh, but fate had other plans – UL Thanesh survived.

Abandoned by his brother and betrayed by Cain, UL Thanesh sought solace in solitude, founding his own house and marking the beginning of the Eldar division. Yet, in a twist of fate, it would be Cain who would later reunite the divided Eldar houses, albeit in a manner most peculiar.

In those bygone days, the gods walked alongside the Eldar, teaching them, guiding them towards an era of peace and prosperity. Among these divine beings was Lilith, the Goddess of Luck and Dreams. Known for her prophetic visions, she dreamt a nightmare that sent ripples through the divine realm – a prophecy that foretold the gruesome death of Cain at the hands of the Eldar.

Cain, upon learning of his fate, was filled with rage and fear. In a desperate attempt to alter his destiny, he launched a massacre, his wrath sparing no one. The Earth Goddess Isa, unable to bear the sight of her children’s slaughter, beseeched the High God Asurian to intervene.

Asurian, entering the Warp just in time to witness the horrors wrought by Cain, made the painful decision to expel the Eldar from the Warp, sealing off the two dimensions. This drastic act severed the connections between the gods and the Eldar, forbidding divine intervention in the lives of their mortal children. The war was halted, but at a great cost.

The separation was anguish for Isa and her spouse Kus. In their desperation, they turned to the God of Smiths, Vall, who agreed to aid them. Together, they crafted special Spirit Stones, allowing them to secretly communicate with their children.

Yet, secrets in the realm of gods are as ephemeral as a desert mirage. Cain, learning of Isa and Kus’s defiance, reported their transgression to Asurian. Torn between loyalty and law, Asurian reluctantly handed the two gods over to Cain, unknowingly setting the stage for another divine conflict.

This is the tale of a divided Eldar, of gods walking among mortals, of prophecies and betrayals. Stay tuned for the next part of this multi-part series, where we’ll delve into the consequences of Isa and Kus’s punishment, and how Vall’s unparalleled craftsmanship led to a god’s fury, and the beginning of a war among deities.
