All About the Ork Clans: A Savage Guide to War – Part 9

In a realm where brute force reigns supreme and cunning is the only ally, the lonesome stars of the Warhammer 40,000 universe bear witness to the relentless onslaught of the Orc Freebooter Pirates. Their approach is as straightforward and unflinching as a bullet from a lasgun, charging headfirst into their prey at breakneck speeds, unleashing a terrifying barrage from every weapon in their arsenal.

The next step in their relentless dance of destruction? Ramming into the enemy ship and initiating a brutal boarding. Yet, don’t be fooled into thinking these are mere brutes. Oh no, they are cunning strategists, setting up lethal ambushes for unsuspecting convoys. They lurk in the shadows of asteroid fields or the edges of the system, striking when least expected, and their audacious attacks on the Imperial Navy’s warships have become an alarming routine.

However, if a Freebooter captain deems the spoils of convoy raids too meagre, they don’t hesitate to set their sights on grander targets. Their ship or fleet then veers towards the nearest inhabited planet or space station, ready for a looting spree. And with an eclectic crew made up of Pain Boys, Renegades from The Cult of Speed, and even mobs of Deff Dreads, planetary invasions are mere child’s play.

Yet, let’s not forget the Orcs’ insatiable thirst for a good fight. They storm planets and stations with equal fervour, not just for the plunder, but for the sheer thrill of it. And when the spoils have been claimed, they don’t simply dash off to the nearest asteroid field. Instead, they hold their ground, waiting with bated breath to see who or what dares to challenge them next.

However, in the unpredictable world of Warhammer 40,000, things don’t always go as planned. What was initially mistaken as a Stompa for the Freebooters’ landing turned out to be a piece of a Kill Cruiser plummeting from orbit. Chaos Space Marines from the Word Bearers Legion had their eyes set on this world too. They had discovered something invaluable in the planet’s mountains during the Horus Heresy but were repelled by loyalist legions. Only after millennia did the survivors manage to return for the treasure.

While the Orcs gawked at the sky, a fierce battle was already underway in space. A fleet of Chaos Space Marines was hell-bent on raining down the Orc ships and ravaging the planet like a bloody scythe. The cosmos of Warhammer 40,000 is indeed a theatre of constant chaos and upheaval, where the only certainty is war, and the victors are those who can adapt, fight, and plunder with the most audacity.
