In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. And at the epicenter of this eternal battle, stand the Knights and the Inquisitors of the Ordo Malus. Cloaked in suspicion and shrouded in arcane knowledge, these battle-hardened warriors are the bulwark of mankind against the corrupting influence of Chaos.
Each warrior brandishes weapons and equipment, protected by the recitation of all 666 verses of the Liba Exorcismus. They break the Seven Seals of Solomon and master the use of protective hexagrams. This esoteric knowledge, however, has drawn the mistrustful gaze of the Ecclesiarchy and certain Space Marine orders. Yet, their unshakable alliance with the Inquisition shields them from the scrutiny of Imperial bureaucrats and the High Lords of Terra.
This chapter of our saga brings us to a tense confrontation between Margus Shano, a Word Bearer, and an Inquisitor. The Inquisitor, trembling under the psychic pressure of the Word Bearer, is forced to reveal a tale of deceit, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of the Exorcists.
The setting is the planet of Totem 4, subjected to a demonic invasion. The Exorcists, a Space Marine chapter known for their astonishing resilience, were the first strike force to engage the enemy. Alongside them were the Inquisitors of the Ordo Malus, who had evolved into something…different. Radical, some called them. But they preferred to be known as Plutonians.
The independent and self-sufficient colonists of Totem 4 had barely raised the alarm when the invasion, led by the formidable Lord of Change, Kath the Hidden, had advanced too far. The Exorcists, however, were undeterred. They stood firm in situations that others would find hopeless, advancing through ruined cities, and never once faltering.
Driven to fury by the Exorcists’ baffling immunity to the mutogenic blessings of Tzeentch, Kath targeted Master Enoch Tres Magistus. Despite his formidable mental defenses, Enoch was possessed by Kath. But the demon’s victory was incomplete, as Enoch waged a desperate internal battle against the great demon, resisting every counterattack on his mind.
With immense effort, and the help of Chief Librarian Gus, Tres Magistus managed to exorcise Kath from his body and banish the demon from real space. This event had profound consequences for both Tres Magistus and the Exorcists.
The Plutonians, having been investigating the Exorcists extraordinary resilience and having placed a spy within their ranks, acted swiftly upon hearing news of Tres Magistus’ possession. They took control, relieved Enoch of his command, and began relentless interrogations.
Only after several months was he exonerated and reinstated. But this was only the beginning. Through his ordeal, Tres Magistus gained a profound understanding of his enemy’s weaknesses and awakened his latent psychic abilities. Once his purity was confirmed, he made a radical proposal to the Plutonians, offering his battle brothers as partners in their endeavor.
In the next chapter, we delve deeper into this clandestine alliance and the secret experiments conducted by the Plutonians and the Exorcists. Stay tuned, faithful followers of the Emperor. The saga continues…
