Title: Chronicles of Tarsus Ultra: A Desperate Battle Against the Tyranids
In the grim darkness of the far future, valiant defenders waged battle on the surface of Tarsus Ultra, a planet besieged by relentless alien assaults. The conflict was brutal, the cost immeasurable, with many lives lost, including a significant portion of the Fourth Company. Yet, despite the overwhelming onslaught, the Tyranids were ultimately vanquished.
Leading the charge was Captain Ventris, a commander of the Deathwatch kill team, who dared to defy the teachings of the Codex Astartes. Ventris, having previously served with the Deathwatch, knew that his greatest impact would be at the heart of the alien threat. So, he undertook a desperate mission to deliver a lethal gene poison to the last remaining Tyranid Hive Ship. Ignoring the warnings of veteran Sergeant Lias that his deviation from the Codex would not go unnoticed by Marneus Calgar, Ventris embarked on this perilous journey.
The Deathwatch Space Marines, under Captain Ventris’s command, braved alien horrors and biological threats. Their mission? To administer the gene poison to the Tyranid Norn Queen. The Queen’s death throes, brought on by uncontrollable mutation, drove the connected Tyranid organisms into a frenzy of self-destruction. The Tyranids were defeated, but Tarsus Ultra was scarred forever, the echoes of the alien invasion lingering in the souls of its surviving inhabitants.
With Tarsus Ultra secured, the Fourth Company collected their fallen brethren and returned to Macragge. But they were burdened by the cost of their victory and the weight of an ancient debt. A greater challenge awaited them; allegations of heresy against Uriel Ventris for his actions on Tarsus Ultra threatened the company’s honor.
However, instead of the expected execution for breaching Ultramarine Doctrine, Captain Ventris was given a death oath by Marneus Calgar. Ventris, along with his faithful companion Sergeant Pasanius Lysane, were tasked with seeking out a place of dark irony where twisted reflections of the Space Marines were being created.
The duo’s journey took a horrifying turn when their starship was attacked by Warp entities controlled by a daemon imprisoned inside a daemon engine called the Omphalos Daemonium. This monstrous engine, resembling a grotesque steam locomotive, traversed between the warp and real space, capturing Ventris and Lysane and taking them deep within the Eye of Terror.
Will Ventris and Lysane survive the horrors of the Eye of Terror? Will they restore their honor and fulfill their death oath? Stay tuned as we delve deeper into their story in the next installment of our multi-part series.
