In the latest saga of our multi-part Warhammer 40,000 series, we dive headfirst into a tumultuous encounter between the Dark Angels and the Wolf Blades on the besieged planet, Hades.
Our tale begins with the Dark Angels, a loyal chapter of the Emperor, in pursuit of a traitor hiding in the depths of this treacherous planet. The unexpected arrival of the fearsome Wolf Blades complicated matters, forcing the Dark Angels to call upon their fearsome Grand Cruiser, the Victorious Savior, which emerged from the warp at the system’s borders. This formidable display scattered the orbital defense station, setting the stage for a full-scale invasion.
For Ragnar and his comrades of the Wolf Blades, this hostility from another loyal chapter was perceived as a further betrayal by the Dark Angels. Oblivious to the existence of the fallen they were pursuing, the situation quickly escalated. The Wolf Blades, led by the indomitable Ragnar, Torin, and Hager, were tasked with finding and capturing aartis, a character of critical importance to understanding the cause behind the sudden attack.
As war descended upon Hades, drop pods rained down on the capital, plunging the city into chaos. Despite the formidable prowess of the Dark Angels, they struggled to resist the might of Hager, the lightning-fast Torin, and the furious Ragnar. Their mission was clear – capture, not kill. They needed answers.
As the Wolves pressed on, they discovered that the traitor they were hunting had a far more sinister plan. The fallen, Cadmus, had successfully manipulated the sons of The Lion and the sons of Russ into a violent conflict, using the chaos to secure Lady Gabriella as a hostage. His ultimate aim was to instigate chaos on the planet and, in doing so, create a diversion for the Legion of the Thousand Sons to obtain the genocides of the sons of Russ.
However, the cunning of the Wolf Blades was not to be underestimated. In a thrilling turn of events, Ragnar’s squad united with the captured aartis to halt the madness that Cadmus had unleashed. The fallen was finally found in his hideout beneath the ruins of an ancient temple.
Despite the treachery and manipulation, the battle was drawing to a close. The sons of the lion had achieved their mission, and the Wolves were preparing to return to their ship as a chaos fleet descended upon the system.
In a bitter twist, the heretics managed to sabotage the underground Promethean storages, rendering the defense of Hades futile. The Wolf Blades, now accompanied by Gabriella, retreated to Beric’s ship, setting their sights on Fenris. The burning city’s devastation painted a grim picture of the chaos that had unfolded and hinted at the massive invasion by chaos forces that was yet to come.
Upon returning to Fenris, Ragnar found himself burdened with the responsibility of Gabriella’s safety. His fury was further stoked by his brothers’ resentment, who viewed him as an outcast who had failed to protect the Spear of Russ. The tension finally broke when a distress signal from the planet Charis revealed that their Wolf Lord had been ambushed.
Stay tuned as we delve deeper into this epic saga where loyalty, treachery, and the battle for honor intertwine in the grim future of Warhammer 40,000.
