Who are the Crimson Fists? – Part 2

In the eternal battlecry of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the revered chant echoes: “There is only the Emperor. He is our shield and protector.” A desperate plea from the heart of a soldier, Orvac, who wished for such skilled warriors on his home planet. He ruminated on the devastating attack by the Flawless Host on his homeland, s Dennis, followed by the Karadon. His musings were disrupted by an eerie laughter echoing from distant corridors.

Fear gripped him as he stared into the pitch darkness of the doorway, his hand instinctively reaching for a rusty but still usable Lasgun. A familiar voice whispered, barely audible, “Do not be afraid…consider me your protector.”

Orvac’s protector, the Crimson Fists, are a force to be reckoned with. Adorned in power armor of dark blue, crimson trims, and white markings, they are a sight both awe-inspiring and terrifying. Every neophyte who joins the ranks of the chapter has his left gauntlet painted crimson, a tribute to a long-standing tradition of forging strong bonds through shared pain. Upon reaching veteran status, the right gauntlet too, is painted crimson. Lieutenants bear a red stripe down the center of their helmets and scouts are distinguished by two red gauntlets with blue shields on their arms.

The chapter’s emblem, a left gauntlet raised and clenched into a fist, symbolizes the strength and defiance of the Crimson Fists. It originated from the symbol of the Imperial Fists and was painted red in honor of the first chapter Master, Alexis Polu.

The Crimson Fists’ loyalty to the Emperor and the Imperium is unwavering. They have been known to answer calls of the Inquisition and the Adeptus Ad Ministratum, even tasked with assaults against their brothers from other chapters. Three such instances have been recorded, each more brutal than the last. The destruction of the Sons of Gideon, the Marines Vigilant, and the Soul Drinkers. Though they were successful in thwarting a budding Dark Eldar conspiracy, the escape of the Soul Drinkers left a lingering sadness.

In the depths of the Void ship, prowled an apex predator, sensing the disturbances in the warp and adjusting its course towards its target. For the first nine millennia, the Crimson Fists were fleet-based with their Monastery Fortress being the flagship Rutus Tyrannus.

The Crimson Fists’ determination was put to the test during the Scourging at Uralic Prime in the 31st Millennium. The colonists were under relentless assault by several tribes of Eldar Exodites. Alexis Polu relied heavily on his orbital superiority, devastating vast areas of lush forests where the Exodites were hiding. Despite heavy losses, the Crimson Fists emerged victorious, liberating the colony on URC Prime.

In the War of the Beast, the Crimson Fists proved their valiance once more. Faced with the threat of the largest Orc invasion, the Imperial Fists fought against the colossal armies of the Beast and were nearly annihilated. The last surviving Captain, Kand, activated the Last Wall protocol, summoning successor chapters to reunite. Alongside the Black Templars and other chapters, the Crimson Fists halted the Orcs’ onslaught and successfully defended Terra.

In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Crimson Fists are more than just warriors, they are protectors. Their legacy is one of valor, sacrifice, and unwavering loyalty to the Emperor. Their tale is a testament to the resilience of mankind, and a reminder that even in the face of overwhelming odds, there is always hope.
