Blood Angels : Blood for the Golden God – Part 12

Title: “The Blood Angels’ Fury: The Anaran Conundrum”

There are moments in the grim darkness of the Warhammer 40,000 universe when even the noblest of warriors are forced to unleash their full wrath. Such was the case during the tragic conflict with the Anaran system, a tale that echoes with the fury of the Blood Angels and their Primarch, Sanguinius.

In a testament to the enemy’s valor, Sanguinius called for a six-hour ceasefire. Despite the Anarans’ refusal to communicate, the winged Primarch hoped to pay tribute to the brave warriors on the opposing side. He arrayed his fleet just short of the Anaran Throne World, a silent plea for unity under the Emperor’s banner. But the response from the Anarans was far from what Sanguinius had hoped, igniting a violent rage in the Great Angel.

A fleet of Anaran ships approached the Blood Angels’ flagship, Red Tear, under a flag of truce. These vessels signaled they bore gifts for the Primarch – a deadly surprise, as it turned out. The first ship exploded without warning, ripping through the Blood Angels’ fleet and claiming the lives of 132 warriors. The Great Angel’s sorrow turned to fury, and he declared a Day of Revelation, vowing to avenge his fallen sons and exact retribution on Anator.

The Blood Angels responded with a brutal onslaught, annihilating Anaran squadrons and raining nuclear fire onto every outpost. The Anaran defense was desperate, but their attempts to shield military targets with civilian populations and launch suicide runs were futile against the Blood Angels’ wrath. As the Anaran world descended into chaos, the Blood Angels surrounded Anor Centralis, their ships forming a brutal constellation in the night sky.

Then, as dawn broke, the Blood Angels descended. The Erelim, silver-masked destroyers of the Blood Angels, led the charge, aiming to cut the heart from the enemy in one decisive strike. The Blood Angels drove their foes before them, their sorrow masked by their ornate helmets. This was not a battle, but a massacre.

The Blood Angels unleashed a wave of devastation that Sanguinius rarely sanctioned. Cities turned into fields of corpses, forests into cinders and ash, and fortresses into blackened ruins. Anator Centralis was not so much conquered as it was annihilated.

Sanguinius, accompanied by a small cadre of his Sanguinary Guard, cut a path into the palace of the system’s petty ruler. The last of the Iron Bulls, encased in horned exoskeletal suits, sought to bar the Great Angel from his prize. But Sanguinius, borne through the air on wings now stained with blood and gore, swooped down upon the ungainly suits, proving once again why he was more than a match for any enemy.

This chapter in the Blood Angels’ history is a grim reminder of the terrible rage that can be unleashed even by the noblest of warriors in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It serves as a brutal testament to the fury of Sanguinius and his Blood Angels, an echo of a time when unity under the Emperor’s banner was met with betrayal and destruction.
