What happened with Primarchs before Emperor found them? – Part 3

Welcome, warriors! Today’s tale from our multi-part series of Warhammer 40,000 lore takes us back to the tumultuous period of Kos, a planet on the brink. The son of the Emperor, Fulgrim, had just taken the reins of command, driven by the pursuit of perfection.

Fulgrim’s ascension breathed new life into the planet. In the 50 years after his arrival, settlements rushed to join Kos’s renewed structure, their collective drive for survival proving stronger than any sacrifice previously made.

However, the golden age of Fulgrim’s rule was destined to be short-lived. As the planet’s isolation came to an abrupt end, drop pods plummeted from the sky, each bearing battle-scarred men with the emblem of the two-headed eagle – the sign the Emperor had found another son, Pabo.

Our story shifts now to Olympia, an ancient human colony nestled on the fringes of the Ultima Segmentum. This planet, situated on the opposite side of the galactic core from Terra, was once a hub of scientific knowledge and industry. Yet, over time, it had degraded into a complex feudal culture.

It was here that the locals first spotted Pabo, a mysterious boy with astonishing skills. The boy’s talents caught the eye of Damcos, the ruler of the city-state of Loos. Intrigued by rumors of a child mercenary and blacksmith, Damcos invited the boy to his hall. The conversation that ensued between the king and the boy was a dance of power and wit, revealing Pabo’s boldness and Damcos’ calculating nature.

Damcos, intrigued by the boy’s talents and his apparent lack of memory, proposed a test to determine if the rumors about Pabo’s abilities were true. His proposal was simple: if Pabo passed, he would be acknowledged and put to use for the expansion of the realm. If he failed, he would still be cared for, his potential not entirely dismissed. Despite his suspicions, Pabo agreed to the king’s test.

And thus, Pabo, the Hammer of Olympia, was adopted by Damcos. Despite his primarch origins, Pabo remained an enigma, never fully integrating into the society that had accepted him. His story remains a testament to the complex dynamics that brew beneath the surface of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Stay tuned for the next installment, and remember, in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.
