Typhus’ Corruption: The Fall of the Death Guard’s Hero – Part 6

Title: Terminus Est: The Leviathan of the Death Guard

In the grim darkness of the far future, there are countless tales of heroism and treachery, of godly might and abominable horror. Among the more repugnant narratives, few can rival the tale of the Terminus Est, the once-majestic battleship of the Death Guard.

Crafted during the Great Crusade, the Terminus Est was a sight to behold. Its guns were the bane of countless foes, even laying waste to the Shadow of the Emperor, a mighty Raven Guard battleship, during the fateful Battle at Istvan 5. Yet, the ship’s glory days are but distant memories, replaced by a grotesque transformation into a diseased Leviathan, a monstrous entity covered in filth and biomechanical growth.

Today, the Terminus Est is a ghastly monstrosity, a symbol of the Death Guard’s fall from grace. Its hull, once a testament to the Imperium’s might, is now a poisonous mix of dissolved heavy metals and boiling plague broth. Its true size is nearly impossible to measure, obscured by a swarm of daemon flies that serve as a protective shield, eagerly devouring any intruder foolish enough to approach.

The arrival of the Death Guard in the Sol System, led by the Terminus Est, was akin to the opening of a festering wound. What emerged from the warp was a twisted version of the 14th Legion, a grotesque mockery of their former selves. They were the first to land on Terra, the cradle of humanity, spreading pestilence and despair in their wake.

The battleship’s commander, Typhus, proved a formidable foe during the Siege of Terra. With the aid of Zardu Layak, they summoned the daemon Corack to weaken the defenses of the Imperial Palace. Despite facing opposition from the likes of the White Scars and the Reaper, Typhus’s ambition and ruthlessness kept him in the fight, securing a foothold for the Death Guard on Terra.

After the Warmaster’s defeat, the remaining Death Guard retreated into the Eye of Terror, where Mortarion, the Primarch of the Death Guard, established a new home on a plague-ridden planet. Yet, Typhus, ever the ambitious one, was not content playing second fiddle. Gathering a loyal following, he formed his own Plague Fleet, led by the Terminus Est, with the intention of inflicting countless wounds upon humanity.

Typhus’s relentless pursuit of the perfect plague has led to the annihilation of nations, worlds, and even star systems. His name is whispered in fearful rumors, tales of a monstrous figure followed by an emissary of daemon flies, wreaking havoc wherever he goes. His exploits in Nurgle’s Garden, where he defended the realm from the legions of Khorne and earned high accolades directly from the Plague Father, only add to his terrifying reputation.

Witnesses who survived encounters with Typhus tell of his terrifying armor, the Cataphractii-pattern Terminator Armor, now fused with his body and twisted by the warp’s influence. This grotesque second skin belches out clouds of daemonic flies in the heat of battle, a horrifying sight to behold.

The tale of Terminus Est and Typhus is a chilling reminder of the grim future that awaits the Imperium. It’s a tale of ambition, treachery, and unimaginable horror, a testament to the terrifying power of the Death Guard and their relentless pursuit of destruction.
