The Turbulent History of Lieutenant Titus
Born on the Ultramar Agri World of Tarentus, Titus was chosen at a young age by the Ultramarines’ 10th Company to embark on the arduous journey of becoming a Space Marine. His natural aptitude, combined with an indomitable will, saw him overcome the trials and rise through the ranks, eventually becoming a decorated veteran of the Chapter.
A Warrior Tempered by Conflict
Titus’s path to greatness was not without challenges. His fiery temper often put him at odds with his instructors and peers, yet it also drove him to excel on the battlefield. As he matured, his raw determination and ability to lead under pressure earned him the respect of his brothers.
During a pivotal campaign against Chaos forces, Titus faced one of his greatest tests. In the heat of battle, he engaged a powerful Chaos Sorcerer, ultimately slaying the foe at great personal cost. Titus suffered grave injuries during the confrontation, injuries that would leave scars both physical and emotional.
Whispers of Suspicion
Despite his heroics, Titus’s survival raised questions among his peers. How had he endured when others had perished? Whispers of suspicion began to circulate, fueled by fears of Chaos’s corrupting influence. While Titus remained steadfast in his loyalty to the Emperor and the Ultramarines, the lingering doubts cast a shadow over his illustrious career.
“I have nothing to hide. My duty is to the Emperor, and I will not falter.” – Titus
The Ork Waaagh! on Graia
Titus’s resolve was put to the test during the Ork Waaagh! on Graia, where he led his battle brothers in defense of an Imperial Forge World. Fighting alongside Sergeant Sidonus and Brother Leandros, Titus demonstrated his unparalleled skill in close combat and his strategic acumen.
During the campaign, Titus wielded the Power Axe and Bolt Pistol, cutting a path through the greenskin hordes and even battling a Chaos-tainted Warboss. However, his actions drew further scrutiny when his resilience to Warp energies raised concerns among the Inquisition.
A Fall from Grace
After the battle for Graia, Titus was taken into custody by Inquisitor Thrax under suspicion of being tainted by Chaos. Despite a lack of concrete evidence, Titus’s defiance during the interrogation and his refusal to bow to fear only deepened the Inquisitor’s mistrust. Stripped of his command and exiled from the Ultramarines, Titus began a quest for redemption.
“The Emperor protects, but we must protect ourselves from doubt.” – Titus
A Return to Glory
Titus’s exile was not the end of his story. Years later, he returned to the battlefield as a Primaris Space Marine, re-inducted into the ranks of the Ultramarines. His transformation into a Primaris warrior, courtesy of Belisarius Cawl’s groundbreaking technology, granted him renewed strength and purpose. Titus has since fought with unyielding resolve, proving his loyalty to the Imperium time and again.
Legacy of a Hero
Titus’s journey is a tale of perseverance, sacrifice, and unshakable faith. Despite the doubts of his peers and the scrutiny of the Inquisition, he has remained a steadfast servant of the Emperor. His actions continue to inspire Ultramarines and Imperial citizens alike, serving as a testament to the resilience of humanity in the face of adversity.
