The Twisted Genius of Fabius Bile
In a grim future where humanity teeters on the brink of collapse, one individual stands out as a mastermind of genetic manipulation and depraved experimentation. Fabius Bile, once a respected Lieutenant-Commander and Chief Apothecary of the Emperor’s Children, has descended into madness and corruption, driven by an insatiable quest for knowledge and power.
Born on Terra to Europan nobility, Fabius spent his childhood in the region of Ingolstadt, where he developed a fascination with fleshcrafting. As a young boy, he conducted twisted experiments on mice, forcing them to duel each other in elaborate garb. This early exposure to the dark arts would set the stage for his future endeavors.
Fabius rose through the ranks of the Emperor’s Children, becoming Chief Apothecary and earning the nickname “The Spider” due to his reclusive and inquisitive nature. During the Great Crusade, he began experimenting on wounded Space Marines, seeking to improve the Legion’s gene-seed and finalize their quest for perfection. However, his methods became increasingly extreme, leading to corruption and madness.
As the Horus Heresy unfolded, Fabius found himself in high demand by both Horus and Erebus for his skills in genetic research. He trawled ancient choral conclaves on Isstvan V, scavenging knowledge left behind by the warsingers of the Isstvan System. His experiments became more and more depraved, involving torture and human sacrifice to create his first generation of Terata.
During the Siege of Terra, Fabius took part in the Emperor’s Children’s attack on the general population, using the opportunity to perform horrific experiments on captives. Human victims were rendered down to create special drugs that heightened the Legionnaires’ feeling of ecstasy. It is possible that Earth served as the first example of Fabius’ subsequent atrocious experiments on entire planetary populations.
Following the Siege of Terra, Fabius had an epiphany, realizing the futility of the traitor Legions’ efforts. He abandoned Terra, taking a retinue of altered followers with him. The act incensed Fulgrim, who put a bounty on his head. Fabius was subsequently hunted by the Salamanders, narrowly escaping their wrath.
Today, Fabius Bile remains at large, a twisted genius driven by an insatiable quest for knowledge and power. His legacy is one of horror and depravity, a testament to the dangers of unchecked ambition and the corrupting influence of power. As the grim darkness of the far future continues to unfold, one can only wonder what new atrocities Fabius Bile will commit in his pursuit of scientific progress.
The Consortium and the Shattering
Bile’s quest for knowledge led him to form the Consortium, a group of affiliated apothecaries from various Legions. He played a key role in the Shattering, an attack on the Eldar Craftworld Lugganath, where he sought to acquire ancient technical knowledge. However, his former acolyte Oleander Koh and a group of Harlequins engineered the events to try and convince Fabius to lead the Emperor’s Children once more. Bile refused, insisting that his work would continue.
Pursued by Enemies
Bile’s actions have attracted the attention of powerful enemies, including Sylandri Veilwalker and her band of Harlequins. He was captured by Flavius Alkenex and taken to Harmony, where he was forced to agree to retrieve a lost Gene-Seed tithe of the Emperor’s Children. Bile’s clone of Fulgrim, which he had created, rallied his Gland Hounds to resist Alkenex and his Emperor’s Children.
Deals with Xenos
Bile’s pursuit of knowledge has led him to form uneasy alliances with xenos forces. He bargained with Trazyn the Infinite, a Necron Lord, exchanging his life for the Harlequins that stalked him. Later, he entered the Dark City of Commorragh, where he studied under the tutelage of Hexachires of the Coven of the Thirteen Scars.
The War of the Spider
During the Psychic Awakening, Bile stole a precious Death Guard artifact, the Ark Cornucontagious. This sparked a war between the Shriven, Death Guard, and Custodes, which Bile manipulated to his advantage. He captured Custodes and Sisters of Silence, using them as test subjects for his experiments.
The Quest for Perfection
Bile’s ultimate goal is to create the perfect being. He considers the Primaris Space Marines of Belisarius Cawl to be inferior and seeks to create something greater from the genetic template used to create the Primaris design. To achieve this, he invaded the Zar-Quaesitor, Cawl’s flagship, and stole the Progenoid Glands of Alpha Primus, the original Primaris Space Marine.
Raid on Restitution
Bile’s next move was to raid Restitution, homeworld of the Gilded Sons Space Marines, alongside the Flawless Host. He looted a large amount of their Gene-Seed before escaping, furthering his research and bringing him closer to his goal of creating the perfect being.
The Twisted Experiments of Fabius Bile
Fabius Bile, a master of genetic manipulation, has defied death for centuries by transferring his consciousness into new bodies. His secret to immortality lies in a neural network that contains updated copies of his neural pathways, which can be downloaded into a mindless clone or any Transhuman body. This process, developed by copying Eldar Infinity Circuit technology, allows Fabius to return in a new body each time he dies.
A Legacy of Creations and Experiments
Fabius has created an array of twisted experiments, including Enhanced Warriors, New Men, Gland-hounds, Vat-born, Thralls, and Witches. These creations are the result of his relentless pursuit of knowledge and power.
Self-Experimentation and Technological Advancements
Fabius experiments on himself, resulting in vast variations in his strength and abilities. He has developed Wraithbone Neural Receivers, Night Shields, and Primogenitor Primaris, all of which have contributed to his continued existence and success.
Wargear and Vessels
Fabius wields a variety of deadly wargear, including the Chirurgeon, Rod of Torment, and Xyclos Needler. He also commands a fleet of vessels, including the Pulchritudinous, Vesalius, and Butcher-Bird.
