Necromunda Planet Warhammer 40K – Part 1 (Part 1 of 6)

The Industrial Powerhouse of Necromunda

Located in the heart of Segmentum Solar, Necromunda is a Hive World that has been a major producer of munitions for the Imperial Guard for centuries. Its forges churn out a vast array of weapons, from lasguns to boltguns, making it a crucial component in the Imperium’s war machine.

A History of Conflict and Industry

Rumors abound that the Piscean xenos race were the first to inhabit Necromunda, which was then a planet with vast oceans. However, they were eventually displaced by humanity, who brought with them industry and war. According to legend, the Pisceans vanished into the subterranean oceans, leaving behind only whispers of their existence.

From Mining Colony to Hive World

Necromunda was founded 15,000 years ago as a mining and manufacturing colony. It quickly grew into a thriving hub of industry, becoming the capital of the Araneus Continuity, a small empire ruled by Techno-nobility. During the Great Crusade, the planet was absorbed into the Imperium, marking the beginning of its transformation into the Hive World we know today.

Turbulent Times: The Horus Heresy and Beyond

Necromunda was attacked by unknown Xenos forces during the Horus Heresy, leaving only the capital, Araneus Prime, intact. The planet was later liberated by the Imperial Fists, establishing a lasting bond between Necromunda and the Chapter. In the aftermath of the Great Rift’s creation, a world-wide rebellion broke out on Necromunda, but was quickly quashed by the impending arrival of Lord Commander Roboute Guilliman’s Indomitus Crusade.

Geography and Climate

Necromunda is a vast powerhouse of industry, with thousands of mines, factories, refineries, and processing plants dotting its landscape. The planet’s geography is characterized by ash wastes and hive cities, a testament to its turbulent past.

Cycles, Shifts, and Seasons

Despite its industrial nature, Necromunda is not immune to the natural cycles of the universe. The planet experiences shifts and seasons, each bringing its own unique challenges and opportunities.

A New Era for Necromunda

As the Imperium continues to evolve, Necromunda remains a vital component in its war machine. With its rich history and industrial might, the planet is poised to play a key role in shaping the future of the galaxy.
