The Saga of Bjorn the Fell-Handed
A Legendary Warrior
Bjorn the Fell-Handed is a name revered throughout the Imperium. This ancient Space Wolf Dreadnought has been the salvation of his Chapter time and again, earning him numerous titles, including “Eldest”, “Trueclaw”, “Revered One”, and “Last of the Company of Russ”. His storied past is a testament to his unyielding spirit and unwavering loyalty.
Early Exploits
Bjorn’s first recorded mention in Imperial records dates back to the Great Crusade. He saved the life of off-world conservator Kasper Hawser and two Fenrisian natives from a tribal dispute. This act would set the stage for a lifetime of heroism and sacrifice. Bjorn went on to participate in the assaults on the Olamic Quietude xenos civilization and the world of Nikaea, where he entered into combat with a being who appeared to be Captain Amon of the Thousand Sons.
The Horus Heresy and The Great Scouring
During the Horus Heresy, Bjorn fought against the Daemon king, Arvax the Arch-slaughterer, on the volcanic world of Gryth. Though his pack was massacred, Bjorn survived and eventually drove the Daemon general from the field. This victory came at a great personal cost, as Bjorn never forgave himself for the loss of his kinsmen. He became increasingly melancholy, refusing to accept the approval of his peers.
A Quest for Vengeance
Five years later, Bjorn finally had the opportunity to exact vengeance on Arvax. With the help of Leman Russ, Bjorn faced his nemesis and tore out the Arch-slaughterer’s throat with his trusty wolf claw. This deed earned him the title “Fell-handed” and a place in the Wolf King’s personal Wolf Guard.
Later Battles
Bjorn continued to fight alongside Leman Russ, participating in the Battle of Prospero, where he lost his left arm. He also took part in the Battle of the Alaxxes Nebula, defending his ship from Alpha Legion boarders. During the Burning of Prospero, Bjorn helped rouse Russ from his despair, convincing the Wolf King to forge his own path.
The Long Sleep
Eventually, Bjorn’s wounds became too severe, and he was interred within a Dreadnought sarcophagus. For centuries, he remained dormant, awakened only when the Chapter had the greatest need of his skills and wisdom. Even in slumber, Bjorn’s spirit remained vigilant, standing watch over the Fang and Fenris itself.
Current Status
Now, Bjorn is awakened only once every thousand years or when the Chapter requires his expertise. He holds court at the Great Feast, recounting tales from his saga to his battle-brothers. This legendary warrior remains a link to the past, revered by the Space Wolves and respected throughout the Imperium.
Appearance and Abilities
As a Dreadnought, Bjorn inhabits one of the most advanced sarcophagi in existence. His ornamented chassis allows for faster movement, reaction times, and sensory input, making him a formidable opponent in combat. Armed with a Plasma Cannon, Bjorn’s personal kill-count is higher than that of some entire Chapters. Despite his sullen nature, Bjorn remains a powerful and bitter warrior, driven by his unwavering
