Welcome back, Warhammer 40K devotees! We’re here to delve deeper into the complex and riveting lore of the Imperium Secundus and the intense confrontations between the Night Haunter, Lion and Gillman. Buckle up, because it’s time for a wild interstellar ride!
We are thrust into an era of turmoil. The Night Haunter, Lion, and Gillman were constantly at odds over matters of policy, especially about the security of Imperium Secundus and the rebellious uprising on Mcag. Lion, suspicious of the influence of Kurur on the rebels, faced a significant challenge following a catastrophic suicide bombing on an Aartis Convoy. In response, Lion enforced martial law over Mcra, using the IE Legion.
Convinced that the elusive Kur was hiding among the rebels in the Yium region, Lion proposed a colossal orbital bombardment to annihilate Kur. However, this plan was met with opposition from Sanguinius and Gillan. Undeterred, Lion deployed his legion’s Dreadwing to route Kur and the rebels.
In the heat of battle on Alma Mon, Lion finally cornered the Night Lord’s Primark. A brutal confrontation ensued, ending with Lion emerging victorious. However, when faced with the opportunity to kill Kur, Lion found himself paralyzed by brotherly sentiment. Instead, he broke Kur’s spine, leaving him paralyzed, and brought him to Sanguinius and Gilan for trial.
The trial of Kur was a tumultuous event. Defending his actions, Kur argued that he was merely acting according to his nature, sowing further discord by accusing Lion of disobeying Gillman’s orders. Enraged, Lion attempted to kill Kur, only to be stopped by Sanguinius and Gilan, who broke Lion’s sword across his thigh. In a fit of fury, Lion was banished from Imperium Secundus, leading to the withdrawal of the Dark Angels from Mcra.
Eventually, Lion returned to Mcra, accompanied by a storm of reflection on his past actions. As Sanguinius prepared to execute Kur, Lion and his Lieutenant teleported into the chamber, halting the execution. Lion put forth the argument that Kur’s precognitive visions suggested his death would come by the emperor’s hand, implying the emperor was still alive.
Recognizing the truth in Lion’s reasoning, Sanguinius spared Kur. Lion then promised to act as Kur’s jailer, marking another chapter in this intricate saga.
